| ‘Addenbrooke’s Hospital Master-planning – The Cambridge Biomedical Campus’ |
A Master-plan was instigated to define the Addenbrooke’s site expansion, using visionary, holistic and imaginative concepts with respect to planning and massing and to promote an integrated health campus development in the medium and long term. The future expanded facilities will be known as the ‘Cambridge Biomedical Campus’.
The Cambridge Biomedical Campus will be a ‘medical city’ – home to academic, commercial and healthcare facilities with over 17,000 people working on the campus in the future. With such a range of diverse organisations which are either in place or planned for the future, there needed to be a framework for development which integrates each of the developments into a master-plan which gives coherence and identity to the Campus.
The team lead by Architect’s Devereux and Allies & Morrison will expand on the development of the master-plan into the 2020 and 2040 timescales.
