A Site Visit with a difference…
Come and meet some of the 24 Cambridge students studying the DEC! course at CAST, situated on the BioMedical Campus in Cambridge. CAST (Cambridge Academy of Science & Technology) is running the DEC! (Design, Engineer, Construct) programme (which is a GCSE equivalent course) for 15-16 year old students. This is thanks to donations from CFCI, along with the charity R70L and Morgan Sindall. The course started last September and the students have already learned how to prepare Project Briefs, Budgets and Feasibility Studies and are designing in Revit! They are all likely to be looking for degree sponsorships, apprenticeships, etc. locally in only a couple of years’ time.
They plan to present what they are learning in their lecture hall at 3.00pm. The event will finish at 4.30pm. Parking is available on site (entrance just off Long Road on the Addenbrookes hospital site).
