Don’t miss out on the opportunity to provide your opinions on heat pumps, which are currently a key technology in the energy transition, even if they aren’t especially photogenic. They come in a range of types and sizes – from 2 kW for an individual flat to industrial machines with 1000 times more output.
Successful installations at a building scale are normalising but examples at network scale are locally less prominent. We will hear from three heat pump / heat network schemes:
Campus Scale – The completed Mill Lane heating and cooling network in central Cambridge, Joel Gustafsson (JG Consulting)
Village Scale – The operational Swaffham Prior heat network, Miles Messenger (Equans)
City Scale – The design and evaluation stage of the Cambridge City Centre heat network, Jeff Laidler (Sustainability Co.)
February Philips (CFCI Trustee, 5th Studio) will host a panel discussion on the topics, challenges and opportunities around the use of heat networks supplied by big heat pumps. Is this the silver bullet that providing low carbon heat is looking for?
This will be a popular topic, so book early so not to disappoint.
The meeting will commence at 6pm where you will have the opportunity to enjoy a drink and mingle with like minded people.
Following the presentation, there will be a further opportunity to network with other attendees.
Tickets can be booked via our website www.cfci.org.uk
