The CFCI are delighted to offer you the opportunity to visit 16 Cranmer Road, a townhouse which adapts Edwardian architectural principles to modern construction methods, designed and being built to achieve Passivhaus Certification.
Built with traditional brickwork, cast stone, and pitched rooflines, it integrates high-performance materials and detailing to meet stringent energy standards. The design features double-height spaces and recessed balconies, with a steel frame primary structure. It’s designed to be all-electric, with on-site renewable energy generation and storage.
Achieving Passivhaus requires meticulous coordination, from airtightness detailing to thermal bridge mitigation. This project showcases how collaboration, precision engineering, and quality workmanship can successfully deliver ultra-low-energy buildings without compromising design ambition.
