The University are transforming a 1930’s telephone exchange in central Cambridge into a world-leading example of an ultra-sustainable retrofit. Working with our committed project team the University has set the highest standards for an existing building, with aims to achieve multiple sustainable building certifications. The building will become Cambridge Institute of Sustainability Leadership’s (CISL) home in Cambridge as well as a virtual hub for it’s international offices and it’s global Network. It will also host The Canopy; an Accelerator and Sustainability Hub which will support innovative startups and small businesses.
We will be hearing from our very own Joel Gustafsson, who will be introducing our presenters:
Wendy Bishop, Architype (Leading Passivhaus Architect)
Gwilym Still, Max Fordham detailing the processes of Passivhaus, thermal comfort, air quality and control of moisture
Mark Burns, ISG taking you through the construction process
Alex Reeve, University of Cambridge on what the building means to CISL
