Gonville and Caius College, Cocksedge Building Group and members of the design team will be presenting details of the Decarbonisation project that will generate initial carbon savings of 223 tonnes per year with infrastructure capacity for savings to exceed 500 tonnes per year in future.
The £10m joint Salix- and College-funded project started on site in January 2025 and is planned for completion in Autumn 2026. The project encompasses many strands of works from improvements to windows, secondary glazing and new heat emitters in the Grade I/II* Listed Old Courts to three new Air Source Heat Pumps that are roof mounted on the Grade II Listed Murray Easton Building, overlooking Market Square in Cambridge’s historic city centre, with architectural and acoustic screening. Pipework carried below Trinity Street links these together.
The Site visit will offer access to the roof of the Murray Easton Building, part of the College’s St Michael’s Court.
Attendees should arrive by 1pm at the Porters Lodge on Trinity Street.
PPE: full PPE requirements are needed, suitable footwear, hi-vis and hard hat required. The visit will include access to the roof via the external and internal stairs.
Very limited availability, therefore please book early. Please ensure you read our Terms and Conditions below before visiting the site.
