Grenfell Tower & Building Safety – A 2025 practitioners response

February 24, 2025 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Gillespie Centre, Clare College, Cambridge

The CFCI is holding a panel presentation on the response to the most significant reforms to building safety regulations in a generation.  The events at Grenfell Tower in June 2017 with the fire tragedy which resulted in the loss of lives of residents triggered reviews and inquiries at Government and construction industry level, concluding that the UK’s system for managing building safety was not fit for purpose.

The panel will include the perspectives from Architects, Contractors, Building Control and the Insurance Sector covering how the industry is responding in practice to the reforms.

We have the following speakers lined up for the event.

Alex Tait – Director of Practice, Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA)

February Phillips – Principal Designer 5th Studio

James Chesher – Commercial Manager 3C Shared Services

Paddy Synnott – Director Miller Insurance Services LLP.

Mark Hart – Director Barnes Construction

We look forward to welcoming old and new members for a pre meeting drink at 6pm.

Following the meeting you will also have the chance to continue the discussion with colleagues with post drinks.

Book early to ensure your place.
