Magdalene College and Cocksedge will be hosting a site visit of the new library project currently under construction.
Members of the design team will also be present to speak about the design of the building.
The unusual load bearing masonry structure incorporates exposed timber floors and folded plate CLT roof pods. At the heart of the building is a box-in-box archive that relies on thermal mass to provide climate control.
The striking architectural form of repeating roof forms and tall chimneys provides a fitting response to building adjacent the Pepys Library and in the Fellows Garden.’
