Maggie’s and Niall MacLaughlin Architects will be presenting the design of the proposed new centre, off Robinson Way in Cambridge.
The new centre will provide expert support for people with cancer as well as their family and friends. It will replace the current interim centre which has been supporting people from a converted residential building elsewhere on the hospital site since 2012. The design of the centre aims to engage with the existing woodland and also features a garden designed by Tom Stuart-Smith.
In 2024 the centre supported people nearly 10,000 times. It is anticipated that the new centre could potentially triple those figures.
The project received planning permission in April 2025 and will be on site in Summer 2026.
