March 20, 2023 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm

Webinar

Join us for a presentation lead by the Construction and Design team working on the Thornton Building at the Human Genome Campus. The team will explore the use of Cross Laminated Timber (CLT) in the construction of the Commercial Translational Office Space at the world-renowned research park.

The presentation will give an overview of the project, followed by information on how and why the clients’ design team developed the scheme to employ the use of CLT within the construction.

The presentation will also cover how the contractor Kier Construction and their supply chain, primarily consisting of Eurban Limited, have further developed technical details to progress the design to the construction stage, and provide an overview on the solutions being employed for the project to be constructed from CLT. The presentation will offer an insight into the manufacturing process of Cross Laminated Timber, along with the benefits of employing the use of the sustainable product within a commercial development.

There will be an opportunity for a Q+A session before the end of the seminar.
